How Often Should You Really Dry Clean Your Clothes?
Over-cleaning wears fabric out faster; under-cleaning lets stains, sweat, and odours set in permanently. Here’s a practical frequency guide by garment type.
Suits & Blazers
Every 3–5 wears, or once a season if worn occasionally. Frequent dry cleaning breaks down structured fabric and interfacing faster than needed — spot-clean minor marks between visits and save full cleaning for when it’s genuinely needed.
Pherans & Woollens
Once or twice per winter season is usually enough unless visibly soiled. Over-washing wool strips its natural oils and softness, making it feel rougher and less warm over time — wool actually resists odour naturally between wears.
Everyday Shirts & Trousers
After every 1–2 wears for shirts in direct contact with skin, since sweat and oils build up quickly; trousers can typically go longer between cleans unless visibly stained or worn all day in the heat.
Sarees, Kurtas & Occasion Wear
Clean after each wear if worn to an event with food, mehendi, or heavy perfume involved; for pieces worn briefly and stored carefully, airing out and spot-checking before the next wear is often enough.
